There's Power in Prayer

Grace of Christ Ministries Prayer and Word Center offers and opportunity for believers to partake in what’s called corporate prayer, united prayer or praying in one accord.
Since opening in 2016, Grace of Christ Ministries continues to be a place for believers, regardless of their home church or particular affiliation, to come together and pray for our nation, state, communities and families in one voice.  Prayer services are each Saturday morning at 7:15 in Gonzales, LA.

Obviously, all churches pray and most will usually have someone come to the podium and lead in prayer during a church service.  However, most do not have occasion for believers to lift their voices together as one voice, in one accord, in prayer to God which is very different from praying individually.

Participating regularly in these meetings, is an opportunity of encouragement, refilling of the Spirit and times of refreshing in the presence of the Lord.  The Word of God should be our example in all things, including prayer.

We know that they ea
rly church gathered regularly for times of prayer, fellowship and breaking of bread. (Acts 2:42).
We also see further that when believers prayed together in one accord, the Holy Spirit came into manifestation and great victories won.

Acts 4:23-24 & 29-31
23 On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them...
29 …Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.
30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

Peter and John had been arrested, put in prison and threatened to no longer teach or preach or teach in the Name of Jesus after healing the man at the gate called Beautiful.

Notice when the group prayed, they prayed as one. The all raised their voices together in prayer to God.  After praying, the place was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. It says those that prayed were filled, but actually we could say that they were refilled with the Holy Spirit as we know that Peter, John and others in that meeting had already been initially filled with the Holy Spirit in Acts 2.   So there is an initial filling but we all need to be refilled with the Spirit on a regular basis.

Eph 5:18 encourages to not be drunk with wine but to be filled with the spirit.  Scholars tell us this could be legitimately translated as “be ye, being filled with the Holy Spirit.”  An ongoing and continual process.
So we can see there is a refilling, refreshing and boldness to those praying this way.

Acts 16:25-26
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

Paul and Silas prayed and praised together, out loud and in one accord and suddenly the answer came.

Acts 2:1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

It was when the disciples were all in one accord, in one place that suddenly the Holy Spirit came.

Again, there is great blessing in United or Corporate prayer.  Grace of Christ Ministries Prayer and Word Center is placed as a hub for believers, from all walks of life, various churches and denominations to seek God and his plans corporately.  We come together to pray “first of all” for our leaders at the national, state and local levels, to pray for the body of Christ and local churches, and to pray for our families, children, grandchildren and God’s direction for our personal lives.  We would be honored to be a house of prayer for you and yours.  Please reach out to Bruce Boyet, at gocm225@gmail.com, to set a time to speak and answer any questions regarding.
